About Me

Eating Persian in St. Louis, Missouri. From as early as I can remember my family has been in Springfield, Missouri. Sometime during the 1930′s my great-grandparents moved to town and my great-grandfather founded College St. Body Shop. The shop survived economic downturns in the 1970′s, and as of now four generations have worked there. Among the shop’s employees have been my Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Great-Grandfather, and Uncle. This doesn’t count the summers in college that I spent there.

I was born in 1984 and went through the public school system in Springfield. I attended Parkview High School, ran Cross-Country, debated, and eventually earned a Cross Country athletic scholarship. As an undergraduate I studied History and took an interest in Philosophy. I had planned to earn my Ph.D in American History, but a poor job market and extenuating circumstances led to me helping digitize Richard Gephardt’s Congressional Papers. While working on the project I decided to become a special librarian which led to me taking a position with the Missouri Department of Transportation.

In my spare time I like to run, read, and play around on the Internet. All of my books can by found on LibraryThing, and when I’m online I’ll usually do something on this blog. All comments, opinions, and ideas expressed on this blog are mine alone.

Once upon a time I had a non-library related blog. I don’t seperate things as much now.
